A night in with Netflix over a night out anyday...

IMG_0406I may have a split response for the title as that was the reaction from my friends and family. Some say  "such a good investment" whilst others going "are you joking?!". To be honest it was such a refreshing decision.. so I haven't just made myself like a complete alcoholic, I promise you I wasn't haha! Let's just say I made my brother a very happy bunny with a full bottle of Vodka, and quite a large one at that.

I'm not going to preach to you all to do the same, because that wouldn't be useful at all, but there will be others out there that will feel exactly the same. I was inspired writing this after the post by 'What Olivia Did' . I also like the idea of helping people out and making sure there not alone. Don't get me wrong I love a good glass of Pimms, which I will have a treat in the summer of.. but what I'm talking about is the whole...

Going out to get absolutely "hammered"

*shudders*- at that phrase.

Not terminology I would usually use or want to use, but that's it down to a tee. After numerous drunken nights, well beyond the phase of drunk (especially in the summer & Christmas period, apologies to my friends). Drinking became a creature of habit, an activity to do if I wanted to see someone, and because I wasn't always in the best of moods, in a way I thought it was a way of getting over these problems - OH HOW I WAS VERY WRONG!! It did the complete opposite and created more problems.

IMG_0405I feel like for some people this might be a slight enjoyment for you to read all the embarrassing stories of me drunk, but I'm not going to let you have that satisfaction as we would be here for days. My biggest wake up call was being found down an alley way, not knowing what was going on and also someone having to hand my phone into my work place. Oh yeah and being served a cremated Lasagne on New Years Day, that you decided to cook at night but forgot about, and basically nearly burnt the house down. (Hi mum and Jess if you're reading this)

After coming to a new university this year, I dreaded the thought of doing "Freshers Week" again, it sunk into me that I couldn't carry on the way I had, especially with new people and new surroundings. A.) because I didn't want to embarrass myself and B.) for safety reasons. Since when had it occurred that in some perspectives drinking could be class as a hobby.. I mean not one you could put on a CV because well who would hire you from that. Especially with people just hitting 18 and even younger to think it's "cool" to drink and end up in a horrible way.. it's a shame that's how our generation and society accept alcohol in this form.

I can't say I've ever had a really good time when I've been really drunk, well looking back on it anyway. You think at the time you are, but then you look at your bank statements the next day and your texts, and Facebook messenger.. just makes you question your life's purpose really.

This may have been a slight over share, exaggeration or something you guys probably didn't want to read. Again I like reading these kind of posts, and I like writing them as it let's me open up more, and set things into stone and perspective. And just to let you guys know that it's okay if you don't want to drink.. nobody actually cares, and well if they do they're opinion is insignificant and just remember you'll be the one feeling as fresh as a daisy in the morning. Also think about the money you can save, yes I'm thinking of the new shirts I can now buy.. haha!

I would love to know your views, even if you completely disagree with me or if you did agree that would be fab!.. Don't forget to me kind and follow me on here, Instagram, Twitter and Bloglovin. And I'll speak to you guys soon, I promise it will be more of an upbeat post!
