My Favourite Place..

me at the natural history museumIMG_9653
Some times with the hustle and bustle of London as a city some people, or maybe it's just me feel they need to take a step back and well have a "happy place". Now that term may have just made me sound like a complete geek-a-zoid  (yep, just made that word up, sue me!) I mean don't get me wrong I love London, but sometimes you just need an escape.

The Natural History museum is my escape, I love everything about it. Probably one of the reason why it is my happy place is it's my earliestmemory of London as a child. The sheer of excitement of seeing the dinosaurs and just going woaaaaaaaah at everything. Think the little aliens in Toy Story, yes that was my exact reaction. (probably still is now).

Still it's absolutely mind boggling how much history there is in that one building. I studied history for GCSE, which seems like yonks! But it's hard to but into perspective literally how much there was on the planet and how it's evolved over time. Just think of us as humans, just think of the major transformation with us.. while you may call someone dumb and not smart at school, we as humans are so much more superior and intellectual than we've ever been.

Whilst it's my happy place I have to say I'm yet to see it all, I'm always find hidden treasures in their, and parts I've never been to as well. Which I have to say makes it one of the most enjoyable aspects, as I love learning new things.. it just clears my head I guess. In a way it deletes your small little problems, and quite frankly makes them insignificant.

What makes this ideal is that it's something free to do in London, and whilst I don't want to exploit that fact as donations and funding to a place like this makes this accessible to us, which I am most thankful. So if you've never been to the Natural History Museum I highly recommend it.

For now I will leave you with some photos that capture the beauty of the museum, but to capture the reality and the realness I advise you to take a trip.
