I know it's getting a bit late for January favourites, but I believe I made the cut as it's been less than a week still since January.. soooo yeah I win still.
1 // Netflix
2 // Flannel Shirts (ft. Zara & Uniqlo)
3 // Rookie Yearbook by Tavi Gevinson
4 // Collection Extreme 24hr Felt tip liner
5 // Barry M Nail polish 448 Pacific
Christmas has obviously come and gone (gosh it seems like ages ago now!), but this is what helped me locate my January favourites.. as for me it's all about testing new presents and then raiding the sales with the vouchers you've received.
As a student without a TV, well I do.. but I refuse to have a TV license to have live TV! So Netflix is the perfect alternative.. I have to admit spending my days off uni just under my fort of a duvet watching The Office US and Family Guy on religiously. I just love that there's so much variety to explore a new love of a TV show or film.
At the end of last year I decided to go for a more capsule wardrobe.. for many reasons I felt I had lost my sense of style and also it's far cheaper having less clothes but of a higher quality. Rather than ordering everything and anything of ASOS (sorry, I still love you xoxoxox) Flannel shirts are the perfect piece, so versatile as you could have them with t shirts or cami's underneath.. with jeans or skirts, tied around the waist or team up with dresses. I will be doing a blog post soon on how I style flannel shirts... so stay tuned for that!
Since studying 'Magazine Publishing' at university it's made me branch out from the fashion magazines like Vogue and Elle...I still read them, but I'm left feeling uninspired.. Whilst I've only invested in Yearbook which came out in 2012, I'm definitely going to be buying the other two. I love the photography and the scrapbook kind of layout throughout the magazine. I feel like it's my brain on a page. Also due to the size and the amount of pages even though its a magazine, in a way I regard it as book and it will always be something I will go back to whatever day or year it is.
Last but not least my make-up purchases of January, well my most favourite ones anyway. It was a sad day when my eyeliner ran out, but I decided to branch out.. I've never had any luck with liner pens, but after watching an 'Icovetthee' tutorial I decided to invest in the Collection Extreme liner and it's safe to say I will never look. Catflicks are apart of my go to everyday look, so there will be a post soon of my favourite eyeliners.
I always say I'm never going to buy any more nail polishes because quite frankly my stash is over flowing, and to be honest as much as everyone loves a good nail polish.. it's not essential is it. However on my lunch breaks at work it's not handy that there's a Boot's straight opposite as I found myself raiding the shelves. This colour is perfect, I love the multi tones of blue, gold and green as it reminds me of mermaids and the sea.
Hope you enjoyed this post. What’s been your favourite thing this month?!? I can tell December favourites will be a big one and everyone’s favourite.
Anyway before I go don’t forget to follow me on here! Instagram and Bloglovin and if you fancy Twitter.
