Liquid eye liners have become a ritual to my everyday look now especially if you pray on the ground the likes of Alexa Chung and Suki Waterhouse then you will obviously feel the exact same I do. I have tested and tried out many from felt tip liner pens, liner pots and gel liquid liner and I've managed to whittle it down to my top 3 best on colour, wear and application.
Recently I've been wanting to brighten up my look for summer, I sometimes find black liquid eye-liner, especially with pink or brown smokey eyes can distract from the softness of the look. So I invested in some brown liquid eye liner, at first the thought of this was quite daunting however it blends in nicely with your look and creates a more natural cat flick.
The two brown eye liners I love are
L'oreal Paris Super Liner and
Collection Fast Stroke Eye Liner. Both of these liners provide a different end result, this is handy as I use them for different occasions. If I'm wearing this for an evening occasion I opt for my L'oreal Super Liner due to the glossy shine of the line, however for an everyday look I opt for Collection Fast Stroke Liner as it provides a matte finish. The application of both products are very similar due to the handle of the liner making it easy to draw your flick and the the soft tips makes it then easy for the liner to glide onto the eye.

If you're looking for a great black liner I suggest
Collection Extreme 24hr Felt Tip Liner. For £2.99 I wasn't expecting any miracles but Collection always manage to pull it out the bag, prime example the
Lasting Perfection Concealer. The tip of the liner is basically the size of the flick I want, due to the small tip it allows you to diversify you look from thin to thick lines which is perfect. You would also expect a 24 hr liner to be a struggle to get off, but the ease of this makes you question how does it stay on so well without transferring, fading and smudging
(don't worry Collection I will know your secret sooner or later, I'm watching you).
WARNING- THE UGLIEST HAND AWARD GOES TO ME... here I've swatched the eyeliners (top to bottom)
Collection 24hr Extreme Felt Tip Liner,
L'oreal Super Liner and
Collection Fast Stroke Liner.
The liquid eye-liners I love are very budget friendly due to the drug-store location and I have branched out into more expensive liners before. However I feel the wear isn't as long lasting or value for money. I was very disappointed when I invested in Alexa Chung's Eyeko 'Eye Do' liner I felt the application of the stroke wasn't as easy, and the liner easily cracked. So my advice if you're wanting to invest in anything expensive in terms of liquid eye-liner check out the drug store first. You might be surprised!

Sometimes I find the cheaper products work better... not sure how or why, but sometimes they just do!
ReplyDeleteYes, totally agree with you on that one! :)
ReplyDeleteAlthough I must say, I do like good quality foundation. Things like eye shadow and liner are brilliant cheap!
ReplyDeleteFor me it depends on the foundation and its purpose like I have a mixture of high end and drug store! I love my Laura Mercier silk creme foundation, at same time I love l'oreal true March foundation! I agree with you on the eyeshadows especially with the MUA palettes in comparison with the naked palettes! :)
ReplyDeleteI am on the look out for good products to help me with contouring... I want to give it a go, so if you have any hints and tips, I would welcome suggestions!
ReplyDeleteIt depends what you are looking for, I don't contour as much I just lightly dust over some bronzer, but I have heard great things about the Clinique contour chubby sticks or for a cheaper alternative Sleek's face contour kit! Hope that helps :)
ReplyDeleteI do love Clinique. Thanks for the suggestion. I think contouring will only be for special occasions... No way would I have the time on a daily basis!
ReplyDeleteAhh brilliant, you're welcome :) Oh yes definitely agree with you there!
